THE BEST OF local squash just couldn’t be ignored.
Meagan Best got more than her just rewards on Saturday night after Christ Church East MP Dr Denis Lowe feted her accomplishments with a dinner reception at Almond Bay.
It came in recognition of a truly historic 2016 season, which saw the then 14-year-old Best become the youngest senior Caribbean Championships’ women’s champion and the first Bajan to win theCanadian Junior Squash Open.
“I think it is a very distinguishing mark to be as modest as she is but to be as tenacious as she is,” Lowe said in his remarks. “She is a very humble person and humility is something that is often lacking in persons who’ve achieved much in their lives.”
