IT WAS the top seeds’ turn to take to the court yesterday when the Caribbean Squash Association Junior Championships continued at the Barbados Squash Club and the Pleasant Place Squash Club.
And they did not disappoint, especially local girl Meagan Best, who reached the Under-15 final with a straight sets 11-2, 11-2, 11-6 demolition of Jade Pitcarin of the Cayman Islands in a mere 15 minutes.
Best, who is the top seed, had started her title quest with a 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago’s Aimee De Verteuil on Saturday night. Best showed why she is ranked number one in her division by winning 11-1, 11-1, 11-1.
She will now play either Guyanese Makeda Harding or No.2 seed Jamaican Mia Mahfood in today’s final. (PG)
